Morpho Gallery presents WAX(in’) Blue, An Encaustic Exhibition

About the Exhibition:

The theme, WAX(in’)Blue refers to the color blue and all it’s meanings. Work must contain the color blue but does not need to be all blue. It is open to encaustic artists in IL, WI, MI, IN and IA. Mixed media is welcomed, but media must primarily consist of “hot wax” encaustic. 2-D work only, unless it can be hung on a wall. Art should be no wider than 26″.

About the Jurors:

FusedCHICAGO members, Kathleen Waterloo and Kathy Blankley Roman return to jury this year’s exhibition after last year’s successful show, Hot Wax in the City.

Kathleen Waterloo received her BFA in 1996 from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. Her work is represented in Chicago, Minneapolis, Washington DC, and Portland, and has been exhibited nationally and worldwide. The artist maintains a studio in Chicago.

Kathy Blankley Roman is an award winning abstract painter. She has studied encaustic with Jenny Learner, Chicago and Shawna Moore, MT. Her acrylic and encaustic work have been exhibited regionally, and internationally online. The artist maintains a studio in Chicago.

Application Process:

Entry fee: $25 for three (3) images, $5 for each additional image, limited to six total per person. The fee is non-refundable.

Submissions Details:

Jurying will be done from on-line .jpg images, submitted with the completed entry form and entry fee paid through Paypal (morphogallery@gmail.com). The official entry form can be downloaded at www.morphogallery.com/links.htm.

Email jpeg images and entry form to morphogallery@gmail.com and specify WAX(in’)Blue in the subject line. Submit images at 72 dpi, 1500 ppi on longest side. Accepted artists will be asked for high res. images for promotion. Please title your jpegs such as: Artist name_title of image_Price of art (20% commission)

Deadline for submissions is July 21, 2013 at 12:00 am CST.
