RAW: Natural Born Artists


RAW Chicago launches their very first showcase and hosting a night of music, art, fashion and film at Double Door on Thursday, March 14th, 2013 entitled “Generation.”

RAW:natural born artists is a nationwide organization for artists, by artists, that hosts eclectic monthly art showcases in more than 60 major cities across the country currently, and growing.

RAW’s mission as an organization is to provide a platform for local independent and emerging artists in all genres, to network and connect with one another, gain more exposure, and find a new audience.

Entertainment to include music sets by Chestnut Brown, Escape Artists, Bloodshot Hounds and fashion by Laura Thampthimkuna.Hair will be provided by Maya Puentes and makeup by Emily Siegel. DJ Flipt the Skript will be accompanying the fashion show with live music. Performances by Jay Washington and Deonte Scott and a short film by Jun Nagano.

The pop-up visual artist gallery will include accessories by Jessica White. Photography by Disturbing New Trends, Jon Coffin, Paris Smith, Matthew Perrin, Garrett Mestas, Meredith Gerber, John Hung and Monica Labelle and visual art by Doug Jones, Kevin’s cutouts, Martha Kubica, Terry Tayler, Bryan Moss, Megan VanKanegan, Jennifer Lauren, Kate Rosendale. Advanced tickets are $10 and can be purchased through an artist to support their place in the show at http://www.rawartists.org/chicago/generation. Tickets go up to $15 at the door.Doors for this 21 + event open at 7:30 pm and guests are encouraged to dress in cocktail attire.
