Mundelein Arts Festival


Mundelein Community Connection is seeking fine artists and craftspeople for their third annual Mundelein Fine Arts Festival. This juried art festival will showcase the talents of 45 fine artists and craftspeople who work in a variety of media.  The two-day event will be held from 10 am to 5 pm on Saturday, September 7, and Sunday, September 8, 2013, and will feature top-notch artists, local musicians and tasty food.

In addition to professional artists, Mundelein Fine Arts Festival will also highlight artwork by select students from Mundelein and Carmel Catholic High Schools.
The festival will be located in Kracklauer Park in downtown Mundelein (100 N. Seymour Ave). Artists will be located in the paved area for easy access by visitors, and local musicians will perform in the Gazebo in the Park, adjacent to the artists’ set-up.

Cash prizes awarded by this year’s judges include: Best of Show ($200); Judge’s Choice 2-D ($150); Judge’s Choice 3-D ($150); and Emerging Artist ($500). Selected high school students will receive a cash scholarship to help further their art careers.

Mundelein Arts Festival also offers a purchase award program for businesses and individuals. Last year’s festival totaled approximately $2000 in purchase awards, including the Mayor’s Choice Purchase Award from the Village of Mundelein.

The application deadline is June 15, 2013; applications received by April 15, 2013, will receive a discount of $20 off of the Booth Fee.

September is a beautiful time of year for a festival, and the artists, musicians and good local food will be sure to attract a crowd.
