Bert Green Fine Art is pleased to present two solos shows by West Coast artists.

Sandra Yagi lives and works in San Francisco, CA. This is her fifth solo show with the gallery. Yagi is primarily interested in the intersection between science and art, using anatomy, genetic manipulation, evolution, and medical oddities as tools in the creation of intricate, small and medium scale paintings in traditional styles. These works depict strange worlds where skeletons of conjoined twins interplay with circus animals, flayed simians invade the historical canons of Western art, and small, delicate, genetically hybrid creatures satisfy unusual curiosities and symbolize moral conundrums.

HOMO RIOT is a provocative, Los Angeles-based street artist on a mission to bring a queer cultural sensibility to the world; he works mainly on the street using paint, stickers, and paste up art. For this show he has created a limited edition silk screen and a series of mixed media works on wood which are named after various locales in Los Angeles where gay men congregate for anonymous physical encounters. HOMO RIOT recently visited Chicago where he installed a number of his works around town; a few of these locations have been doumented and can be seen at the gallery website. HOMO RIOT says about his work “…it’s as much about communicating a strong positive presence to young gays and lesbians as it is about pissing off puritans.”

There will be an artists reception on Saturday, November 3 from 5-8 pm (the artists will be present), and a closing reception on Saturday, December 15 from 5–8 pm. Gallery hours are Wednesday–Friday 11–6 and Saturday 12-5, or by appointment at other times.

All gallery events are free and open to the public. Additional exhibition information, press releases and high resolution images may be found at the gallery website at
