Memorial Exhibit for Franco A. Barsotti, Chicago-based photographer and Professor Emeritus from The School of the Art Institute of Chicago.
Franco (Frank) Alberto Barsotti was born and raised in Chicago’s historic Pullman area in an Italian immigrant neighborhood. Franco’s parents, Alfredo Barsotti and Tarsilla Barsotti emigrated from Italy to Chicago in 1923. Franco returned to Italy often and a large portion of his work consists of photographs of Italy. Franco studied traditional black-and-white photography, reflected in his earlier work. He was also one of the early adapters of digital photography.
