Workshop: “Seductive Surfaces: Golden gels and grounds” with Sandie Bacon

A fun, fast paced demo of some of Golden’s most useful and seductive gels and grounds. We’ll have a brief look at a fast image transfer, what the digital grounds are used for, some of the specialty mediums and gels and pastes. Both experienced and inexperienced artists are welcome. A raffle will be held for a chance to win Golden products and discounts to upcoming Golden workshops.

This workshop is part of Le Gallery Thorndale’s “Connect to Art” Events Season, organized by Edgewater Artists in Motion and running through the end of August: 5 weekends, 8 exclusive events to get up-close & personal with art.

About the Artist: Sandie Bacon is a prolific artist who is currently showing her paintings and painted sculptures nationally and internationally: a painting of Deep Sea Creatures is currently at the Brooklyn Waterfront Gallery in NYC, and two of her Cool Globes (a 5′ fiberglass sculpture) are on display in Amsterdam. A specialist in acrylic paint, her art work shows a wide variety of technical expertise both with draughtsmanship and the use  of cutting edge materials.

As Golden Paints’ working artist representative for the Chicago area, she teaches workshops at colleges and universities, art groups and retail stores throughout the Midwest.

About the Venue: Le Gallery Thorndale is a limited-time, exclusive art exhibit organized by Edgewater Artists in Motion as part of its ongoing effort to make Chicagoans explore Edgewater as an eclectic artistic community and a vibrant creative force in our city.
